Jeff Schmitt, P.E.
Jeff has been a practicing acoustical engineering for over 20 years. He received
a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and
a Master’s of Science in Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, with Acoustical Engineering as his field of study. He served as President of Acoustic Systems, a major manufacturer of acoustical enclosures, from 1983 to 1995.
He founded the Acoustic Systems' Acoustical Research Facility, an accredited acoustical test laboratory located in Austin, Texas. Jeff currently practices as an independent acoustical consultant, serves as an assessor for the National Institute
of Standards and Technology NVLAP laboratory accreditation program and is the current chairman of the inter-committee working group on international standards
for the measurement of noise emissions from Information Technology and Telecommunications Equipment.
