WAV File Recorder
The Nelson Acoustical Engineering WAV file recorder is an application for recording calibrated audio WAV format files for listening and sound quality analysis. Developed using National Instruments LabView programming language, the WAV file recorder is provided as an executable application the only requires users to have the free LabView Run Time Engine on their system.
The NAE WAV file recorder allows users to take advantage of the dynamic range and low noise floor of National Instruments data acquisition boards to create standard audio WAV format files. The application is provided with a level calibration routine that allows users to utilize a standard sound level calibrator to provide level calibration for the WAV files. A "normalization" constant is generated each time the user ranges the input level. This normalization constant can be used the Nelson Acoustical Engineering Sound Quality Analyzer to provide level calibrated acoustic energy and psycho-acoustical analysis of the WAV files.
