Proportional
Octave Band Analysis
The
proportional octave band display and control allow user
configuration for 1/1, 1/3, 1/6, 1/12 or 1/24 octave analysis over
a frequency range of 1 Hz to 20kHz. Both ANSI and IEC compliant
filters specifications are available.

Multi-Channel Display
The
Trident mX multi-channel display is a very useful tool for viewing
proportional octave band data for all measurement channels on the
system at one time. The horizontal axis is frequency and the
vertical axis is microphone position number, with color
representing the level in each band at each position. This
display can be used as a system diagnostic aid to detect dead or
noisy input channels or as a measurement tool to visualize spatial
directivity patterns. |

High Resolution FFT Analyzer
The Trident
FFT Analyzer runs in parallel with the proportional octave and ISO
532B Loudness analyzer.
System
controls allow selection of Power Spectrum, Power Spectral Density
or Magnitude Analysis. Windowing functions include Hanning,
Hamming, Blackman-Harris, Exact Blackman, Blackman, Flat-Top, 4
Term B-Harris, 7Term B-Harris, Low Sidelobe or None.
FFT
resolution is controlled by adjusting the system sampling rate and
analysis block size on the Sampling Configuration Control tab.
FFT resolutions of 1 Hz or less are achievable using the Trident
mX application.
Graphical
Frequency Zoom controls and a pair of energy cursors make Trident
mX a fully functional real-time FFT analyzer.
FFT results
can be exported to MSExcel or Text files. |

ISO 532B
Loudness
Trident mX
includes a free-running, real time, ISO 532B Loudness meter. ISO
532B Loudness is the most basic of the Sound Quality metrics and
is quite useful in estimating subjective reactions to the overall
loudness of different sounds. The ISO 532B Loudness analysis is
conducted for either Free or Diffuse sound fields. Both overall
Loudness and specific Loudness vs Bark or Frequency are calculated
and displayed.

MS Excel
Configuration
All Trident
mX Configuration Settings available on the Tabbed Menu controls
can be pre-configured using MSExcel based configuration files.
Users may have multiple configuration files, allowing the data
acquisition system and Trident mX software to be used in a variety
of instrumentation configurations. Pre-programmed configuration
files are also very helpful in laboratories where technicians that
may not understand all system settings will be operating the
system. Since most all system configuration parameters and export
parameters can be set in this configuration file, users can highly
customize Tridents operations to meet their unique needs. |

MS Excel
Export
Trident mX
uses Active X calls to Microsoft Excel to export any or all system
data into pre-configured MSExcel workbooks. The result is a
system that looks and feels like you’re measuring directly into
Excel. Users can build custom export templates with data
analysis, graphing and reporting to meet their unique needs. Once
Trident exports data into the template, the analysis is conducted
and the report is ready to print.
Trident mX
allows users to export data to any cell, on any worksheet of any
MSExcel workbook. If the workbook does not already exist, a
template file may be used to create the export workbook, allowing
formulas, graphs and reports to be pre-programmed into the MSExcel
template file. Worksheet names can be used to guide system users
through an organized test procedure.
Trident mX
allows full control over the data to be exported. FFT data may be
save to either Text or MSExcel workbooks. Audio WAV file
Precision may be selected. Basic test conditions and a note field
may be attached to each data export.

MS Excel
Export Templates
MSExcel
workbooks are created for export, analysis and reporting of
Trident mX data. Turnkey measurement systems provided by
ViAcoustics are typically provided with “starter templates” for
your measurement applications. MSExcel templates are completely
user configurable, allowing users to analyze, graph and report on
data in a way that meets their unique measurement needs.

Trident mX is a full featured
measurement application designed for product noise emissions and
general acoustics measurements using National Instruments Digital
Signal Analyzer. Trident is available from ViAcoustics as part of
turnkey measurement systems that include hardware, software,
transducers, system integration and training.
Like the Screenshot Tour? Want to See a Live
Trident mX Demo?
Live Trident mX demos are available by contacting
ViAcoustics. Using GoToMeeting software we can invite you to
visit us in the Acoustic Systems' Acoustical Research Facility,
where you can watch on our video cameras and see our screens as we
use Trident mX to make real-world acoustic measurements. If
Trident mX looks like the acoustic measurement application you’ve
been looking for, let us know. We’ll be glad to conduct a demo to
show you how Trident mX can be configured to meet your measurement
needs.
