TDmX is a source code version of Nelson Acoustics’ Trident
multi-channel real-time analyzer. It provides users with the
capability of integrating Trident functionality into larger and/or
more lab-specific LabVIEW™ projects. Typical projects might include
a lab-specific test procedure, automated test control, or appending
test results into a database.
Trident multi-channel functions include:
? 1/3 octave band analysis from 20 Hz
to 20 kHz, A-weighted and Linear
values
? narrowband power spectrum, power
spectral density, or magnitude
? ISO 532B (Zwicker) Loudness in
sones, phons and specific loudness.
TDmX ships as a group of libraries and VIs. Several of the VIs are
password-protected in order to prevent unintentional damage and to
protect intellectual property. Many of the lower-level library
SubVIs are not password protected: modification of these is strongly
discouraged.
Coding with TDmX requires some knowledge of acoustic multi-channel
analyzer use and functionality. Instrument settings can have a
strong influence on measured results. The user assumes the
responsibility of making settings appropriate to the measurement
task at hand.
NI DAQmX relies on the host processor to perform signal processing.
Thus the number of channels that can be successfully measured is
influenced by the sampling rate, processor speed, graphics load,
buffer size, and the degree to which analyzed results must be
displayed in real time.
